Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data Playhire (www.playhire.online) collects when you play, why we collect it and the choices you have. Playhire is built so you can play every game as a guest without giving us any personal data.
What we collect
As a guest. Your game progress (for example, stars per level) is saved in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to our servers.
When you sign in with Google. Google shares your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID with us. We store these with your account, together with:
- your username, XP, level and daily streak;
- your progress in each game (levels cleared, stars, best times, whether hints were used);
- a log of the XP you earned and why;
- certificates you earn, and the date your account was created.
We never receive your Google password.
How we use it
- To keep you signed in and save your progress across devices.
- To calculate XP, streaks, ranks and the leaderboard.
- To issue certificates and their public verify pages.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve the games.
We do not sell your personal data.
What is public
If you sign in, your display name, username, level and XP can appear on the public leaderboard. Certificates have a public verify link that shows the name on the certificate, the Master and the date issued, so that anyone you share it with can check it is real.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Sign-in cookie (
hp_token): a secure, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is strictly necessary and is removed when you sign out. - Local storage: used to save guest game progress on your device.
Third parties
We use Google for sign-in, and a hosting provider and database provider to run the site. They process data only to provide those services. Google's use of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, progress, XP history and certificates. Guest progress stays on your device until you clear your browser storage.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Contact us and we will reply within 30 days.
Children
Playhire is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, the sign-in cookie cannot be read by scripts, and access to our database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
